Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites Recipe… Want one don’t cha?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites… created by YOU!!

As many of you loyal Jerry’s Nut House customers already know, one of our many best selling items are the almighty Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites. But, what if you want something just a little bit different, something you can create in your very own kitchen… yet with the same yummy idea? Well, you are in luck! These decadent little bites are nothing short of amazing and are great as a snack for the kiddos or as a tasty party treat! My kids absolutely loved these and they had a blast helping me make them! Very easy! I ended up with 42 pieces but you could make the balls of peanut butter a little bit smaller and end up with more. Enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (or chunky… your choice! We prefer creamy)
  • 2 tbsp softened butter
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 bag of Jerry’s Nut House Mini Pretzel Twists
  • 1 bag of Merckens Chocolate Melting Wafers (Milk, Dark, or even White it’s all up to you!)

Here’s How: Combine the peanut butter and softened butter in a large bowl with a fork, whisk, or in a stand mixer.

peanut butter mix

1. Add both sugars and mix to combine.

2.At this point if the filling will roll easily into balls-
without sticking to your hands you’re ready to go!! If not, try adding a little more of each type of sugar until the mix reaches a consistency that is easy to roll. My Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites turned out just perfect with the above amount.

Use a teaspoon measure to scoop the filling.  Roll each portion into a small ball, then sandwich them between two whole pretzels.

When all the balls are rolled and successfully sandwiched,
stick the whole tray in the freezer for about half an hour. Next, pour your chocolate wafers into a microwave safe bowl and heat at 30-second intervals, stirring occasionally until completely melted (I used about half of the 14 oz. bag and it took around 90 seconds total).  Remove the pretzel sandwiches from the freezer and quickly dip each half-way into the melted chocolate.  Return to the tray and repeat with remaining sandwiches.

Now you’ve almost got yourself some Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites!

When all are dipped, return the tray to the freezer to set up completely.  Store the sandwiches in the refrigerator until serving time. Finally, you (and if you feel like sharing maybe a friend or two) get to enjoy these delicious peanut butter bites!

Some other ideas to put a fun twist on your little treats:

  • Try using our Milk Chocolate Pretzels or Yogurt Pretzels or Tuxedo Pretzels instead of the Mini Pretzel Twists (skipping the chocolate dipping part of course).
  • Buy a second bag of a different type of Melting Wafer (Milk, Dark or White) to drizzle over the top of each pretzel bite after the original dipped chocolate has cooled.

Shazam… Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites!

Remember, have fun with it and make it yours! Happy snacking everyone!
